Sundarban is the world's largest mangrove forest.The total volume of Sundarbans is about 10 thousand square kilometres, which is jointly located between Bangladesh and India. The 6,017 square kilometer of the Sundarbans is the size of Bangladesh. The Sundarbans in Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Patuakhali and Barguna are part of the district of Bangladesh. The Sundarbans of India comprises of South 24 Pargana district of West Bengal and North 24 Pargrana district. In 1997, UNESCO recognized Sundaram as the World Heritage Site.
The 1,874 square kilometer of the Sundarbans, which is rich in diversity, is a water-drain area. The Sundarbans is known as the habitats of many species of birds including the Royal Bengal Tiger, Chitra deer, Kumir and Saopas. There are about 350 species of flora, 120 species of fish, 270 wild birds, 42 species of mammals, 35 reptiles and 8 amphibian animals. In the name of the beautiful tree, this forest is called Sundarbans. It is the only way to go to the Sundarbans. Winter is the perfect time to visit Sundarbans.
Most of the trees in the Sundarbans are of mangrove type and here there are trees, plants, grasses, pergons and climbing plants. Because most of them are evergreen, all of them are very much in the same physiological and structural adaptation. Most of the trees have upward breathing (pneumatophore), with which they can inhalate oxygen directly from the air for the mucous. The main tree species in the forest are Sundari and Gewa (Excoecaria Agallocha). D in 1903. In his book written on the tree of the Sundarbans, he has recorded 334 plant species under 245. It has 17 fern (pteridophytes), 87 monocotyledons and the remaining 230 Bilotetri (dicotyledons). The species includes 35 Shimon, 29 herbivorous, 19 Hornicites and 18 ethnic (euphorbias) plants. As of today, there are about 50 real mangrove plant species with a total of 35 species. Most mangrove plants are evergreen, short, gulmazatian or tall trees. Many of them usually grow up in a group of people without leaving the forest.
A variety of animals are living in Sundaram. The most important home here is the Royal Bengal Tiger (Panthera tigris). Moreover, there are about 50 species of mammals, 320 species of residential and migratory birds, about 50 species of reptiles, 8 species of amphibians and about 400 species of fish.
